CHARACTER OF THE CITY
1. A fortress city with a vulnerable soul, where personal safety and family ties are the highest value. This stems from the Sun in Cancer. Zamboanga is a place where home, harbor, and the inner circle are sacred. Historically, it is a port city-fort (Fort Pilar) that physically and mentally fortified itself against external threats. Just as Cancer builds a shell, Zamboanga developed an identity distinct from the rest of the country, creating its unique Creole language (Chavacano) and culture as a protective armor. This trait makes it cozy for insiders and closed off to outsiders.
2. A city of diplomats and warriors, where charm and aggression speak the same language. This arises from the powerful conjunction of Venus with Pluto in Taurus and Mars in Gemini. Venus in Taurus gives incredible sensuality, a love of natural beauty (it is called the "City of Flowers"), stubborn attachment to its land and resources.
