- City-inventor, living in the future but stuck in the past. The Sun and Moon in Aquarius are the city's main engine. Hikone is a place where ideas ahead of their time are born. It is a city that always looks forward, but its progress is often hindered by internal inertia. The residents are born innovators, but their reforms meet with silent resistance. The Sun in Aquarius gives the city a reputation for being "strange" or "not of this world." This is not mere conservatism; it is a deep, almost genetic need to remake everything in its own way. Hikone is a place where traditional crafts (such as the famous Hikone pottery) coexist with experimental technologies, but neither is perfected due to the eternal dispute between old and new.
- Lone-wolf city, proud of its isolation and suffering from it. Mercury in Capricorn and Saturn in Pisces create a unique situation: the city is excellent at keeping secrets and building bureaucratic walls. Hikone is a fortress, literally and metaphorically. Hikone Castle — one of the few surviving original castles in Japan — is a symbol of this impenetrability. The city reluctantly lets in outsiders; its economy and culture are self-contained.
